As December winds down, we’re rolling out updates to the Bushel platform to simplify life for agribusinesses and farmers. From simplifying payment requests to enhancing locationmanagement, these tools bring greater transparency and efficiency to everyday tasks. Plus, we’ve improved the login process for Bushel Farm, making it faster and more secure. Take a closer look at what’s new!
Updates for your agribusiness
Hours and location
With the new hours and location feature in the Bushel Staff Portal, agribusiness teams can easily manage and update key information for their locations. Staff users have access to a pre-loaded list of active locations, along with standard days and hours, which they can adjust as needed.
This allows agribusinesses to keep their hours of operation, staff contact info, and physical addresses up to date in the customer portal. Additionally, farmers can confidently access this information directly, reducing the need to call or search elsewhere for it. It’s a simple way to enhance transparency and keep farmers informed.
Request a payment
This latest update to Bushel Wallet lets users easily request payments from businesses on the Wallet network. The “Send Money” option has been expanded to “Send & Request,” giving Wallet holders the ability to either send funds or request payments after searching for a business. Once a request is made, the recipient can choose to either pay or decline without altering the requested amount. This digital approach helps transition businesses away from paper invoicing, streamlining the process of getting paid. While attachments aren’t available yet, we’re hoping to include them in a future update to make this feature even more effective.
Economic calendar
Bushel has updated its bid, offer, and hedge management solution to improve your trading workflow. You can now access live USDA WASDE Report data in a convenient calendar format directly on your desktop, consolidating all your critical trading data in one place.
These enhancements streamline decision-making by providing real-time market reports and key economic events within the same application you use to execute trades. This integration allows for faster decisions, improved efficiency, and greater confidence—helping you act on accurate, up-to-the-minute information without toggling between systems.
Unit of measure customization
This month, we introduced a flexible Unit of Measure (UoM) configuration for AgTrax and AgVantage users. Previously, these contracts defaulted all commodities to bushels, even when that wasn’t appropriate. Now, agribusinesses can adjust the default UoM per commodity directly in the Commodities section of the Bushel Admin Portal. If a record already includes a UoM, the system preserves it; this configuration only applies when the UoM is missing. This change ensures better accuracy and supports a more tailored approach for managing contracts.
Update for your farmers
Try before you buy
For farmers who are not already Bushel Farm subscribers, they can now try Bushel Farm with no credit card needed. Farmers can now start a 30-day free trial and see how easy it can be to manage their farm data, track expenses, and make informed decisions, all in one place without entering their credit card information. Improved log in process for Bushel Farm
We’ve rolled out a new, secure way for farmers to log in with just their phone number and email. This means they will no longer need a password to sign into their Bushel Farm account. For their first login, they’ll enter both their email and phone number to verify them, and after that, it’s smooth sailing with just their phone number and a text code.
